Deze instructie is voor wanneer Interne DNS lookups werken niet met VPN.

Dit komt door de Windows functie: Smart Multi-Homed Name Resolution (SMHNR), welke standaard aan staat binnen Windows. Hiermee bepaald Windows zelf naar welke DNS server een verzoek verzonden wordt. 

Om dit probleem te verhelpen, zijn er twee oplossingen.
Voor beide zijn beheerdersrechten noodzakelijk.

1. Group Policy
   Deze wordt aanbevolen in beheerde bedrijfsomgevingen en computers welke in een bedrijfsdomein gekoppeld zijn.
   
   
2. Netwerk eigenschappen
   Deze word aanbevolen in stand-alone computers welke niet in een bedrijfsdomein gekoppeld zijn.

Instructie voor instellen via Group Policies:

• Press the Start button within Windows and write gpedit.msc and press Enter.
• Expand Administrative templates
• Expand Network
• Click DNS-client
• Double-click Turn off smart multi-homed name resolution
• Check the box called Enabled
• Click Apply all and then OK

Instructie voor instellen via Netwerk eigenschappen:

• Press the Start button within Windows and write ncpa.cpl and press Enter.
• Click with the right mouse button on the name of the created VPN icon and click Properties.
• Click on the tab Networking
• Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties
• Click on Advanced
• Deselect Automatic metric and fill in the value 10.
• Click on OK
